The Gilded Frame

Original painting on archival materials, inspired by a quiet vantage overlooking the Pont Alexandre III in the 7th arrondissement of Paris.

The bridge, built between 1896 and 1900, is a low-slung, 107.5-meter single-span marvel that crosses the River Seine without a single supporting pier in the riverbed. This engineering feat was specifically designed to preserve the skyline; it had to be high enough for river traffic to pass underneath, but low enough to maintain the historic sightline to the dome of Les Invalides.

The painting is part of an ongoing collection titled "Remembrance".
